Consultants

We are now four consultants in Skadkaer Consult. Malene Pilegaard joined in April 2008 and Erik Bryld is joining as an equal partner in Skadkar Consult and is director for Skadkaer-Bryld, Kenya, Ltd. based in Nairobi. The most recent employee is Katja Gregers Brock, who joined Skadkaer Consult in January 2009.

 You will find a presentation of each of the consultants below.

Finn Skadkaer Pedersen

Finn Skadkaer Pedersen is the founder of Skadkaer Consult. He has 26 years of experience with development issues focussed especially on aid effectiveness, good governance including security issues, civil society and fragile situations.

 

He has lived and worked in Africa for a total of 10 years, and been on several missions to South Asia and the Middle East.

 

His experience has been gained through employment with a variety of actors and donors in the development field; including;

  • Danish Embassies (Deputy Head of Mission in Nairobi, Chargé d'Affaires e.p. in Lilongwe)

  • Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Danida Head Office (including as Deputy Head of Technical Assistance Services, of Southern Africa Department and as Head of the NGO-unit)

  • EU-Commission (in Pretoria, South Africa)

  • NGOs (Interfund in Johannesburg, Ibis and Danish Red Cross in Copenhagen)

  • UN (UNHCR in Djibouti and Kampala)

He also worked 18 months as a development consultant employed by a major Consultancy firm and established Skadkaer Consult in October 2006.

Erik Bryld

 Erik Bryld            

Erik has joined Skadkaer Consult Aps as full partner in 2008. He is based in Nairobi, Kenya where we have established Skadkaer-Bryld Kenya Ltd., which will provide consultancy services in East Africa and the Horn of Africa.

Erik has 10 years of professional experience working with the core thematic areas of Skadkaer Consult:

He works for a broad range of bilateral and multilateral development partners from the Nordic+ agencies to the UN and the World Bank. He has worked extensively in East, West and the Horn of Africa and has lived and worked for many years in South Asia.

In his work he draws on his previous experience as an employee of UNDP, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and as a consultant for a number of consultancy companies most recently COWI A/S.

Malene Brix Pilegaard

Malene Pilegaard is experienced in program/project cycle management and being fully fluent in English and French is ensuring language quality of the reports. 

Malene recenly returned to Denmark from Zambia, where she lived for three years and where she worked for COWI Consult, Lusaka.

From 2004 to 2006 Malene taught at Herlufsholm Boarding school at the IB course.

From 2000 to 2002 she lived and worked in Lilongwe, Malawi and did work for among others the Danish Institute for Human Rights.

Malene Pilegaard was in charge of organising the conference on Democratic Ownership - Enriching the Paris Declaration in May 2008. See; Promoting Democratic Ownership

Katja Gregers Brock

Katja joined Skadkaer Consult in January 2009.

She has just finished her studies and has an M. Sc. Soc in Development Studies. She has worked in Egypt and among other issues done research on women's participation in civil society organisations.

She has also worked in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Department for Middle East and Northern Africa as a student assistance.
